This translation is provided for convenience; if there is any inconsistency, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.
In short
Your messages are stored in your own iCloud. The copy meant for someone else is stored in your own Google Drive. If something happens to you, Google is the one that hands it over, not us. We have no servers and no AI cloud services of any kind.
What we collect and store
| Data | Where it's stored | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Stories, photos, recordings, transcripts, notes | Your iCloud (CloudKit private database) | Only you |
| The copy meant for a specific person (Just-in-Case Pack) | The “Just-in-Case Pack” folder in your Google Drive | Only you until it's sent; after that, the person you chose |
| Google authorization | Only on your own iPhone (Keychain) | Only your iPhone. It is never sent to us |
We do not collect national ID numbers, medical records, financial account numbers, or passwords.
Voice, photos, and reminders
Speech is turned into text on your iPhone, and recordings are not uploaded to the developer. Photos come from your camera or photo library and are stored only in your iCloud and your own Google Drive. Reminders for “On a chosen day” are local notifications on your iPhone and do not go through any server. This app uses no AI cloud services of any kind.
Google user data
When you connect Google, this app asks for only the following one permission:
| Permission | What it's for | What it won't do |
|---|---|---|
| Google Drive: files created by this app (drive.file) | Creating and updating the “Just-in-Case Pack” folder in your own Google Drive. If something happens to you, Google's Inactive Account Manager hands it to the people you chose; this app is not involved | It can't see or touch any file in your Google Drive other than this app's own |
This app's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell it, do not transfer it to third parties, and do not use it to train any AI models. No one reads this data except for security purposes, to comply with the law, or with your explicit consent.
Who sends the letters
This app does not send any email and has no permission to send email. For “On a chosen day,” your iPhone reminds you on that day, and you send the email to the recipient's Gmail yourself. For “If I'm gone,” Google's Inactive Account Manager sends it according to your settings.
Ads (Google AdMob)
The free version shows one interstitial ad, provided by Google AdMob, after you finish a letter. This app requests non-personalized ads only. It does not ask you to “Allow App to Track,” and it does not give your letters, recipients, or any other content to AdMob. AdMob may still process the following data to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud: device identifiers (Google's app set ID), IP address and the approximate location estimated from it, device and operating system information, ad interaction records, and crash and performance diagnostics. For details, see the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. After you buy “Remove Ads for Life,” this app no longer loads AdMob.
Purchases
“Remove Ads for Life” is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. The developer does not receive your payment or Apple Account information. Whether you've made the purchase is stored on your device and in your Apple Account. If you switch phones, you can use “Restore Purchase.”
Children's privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Keeping and deleting data
- You can delete any story or note in the app at any time. The matching files in the Just-in-Case Pack are deleted too.
- When you disconnect Google, the app revokes the authorization and deletes it from your iPhone. You can also remove this app under “Third-party apps & services” in your Google Account.
- When you delete all data, the app deletes your messages from your iPhone and iCloud. Whether to delete the Just-in-Case Pack in your Google Drive is up to you.
Recipients
The names you use for recipients and their Gmail addresses are stored only on your iPhone and in your iCloud, and in your own settings in Google's Inactive Account Manager. We have no access to them.
Changes to this policy
If the way this app handles data changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
