Terms of Service

1. What this service is

Sayahead is an iPhone app that helps you leave what you want to say, along with photos and recordings, for the people who matter to you. On a day you choose, it reminds you to send it yourself. Or, if you're gone, Google's “Inactive Account Manager” hands the copy in your Google Drive to the people you chose.

2. No legal effect

Nothing you leave in this service, including your wishes about property, funeral arrangements, or medical care, has the effect of a will or any other legal document. For legally effective arrangements, please use the methods required by the Civil Code of the Republic of China (Taiwan), such as a holographic will or a notarized will. For advance medical decisions, please follow the Patient Right to Autonomy Act.

3. How letters reach the people you chose

• On a chosen day: That morning, your iPhone reminds you, and you send it to them yourself by email. This app does not send letters for you.
• If I'm gone: You set up “Inactive Account Manager” in your own Google Account. When your account goes unused for a long time, Google first reminds you personally. If there is no response, Google sends the notification email you prepared in advance to the people you chose and gives them your Google Drive. Google makes the determination and handles the delivery; this service is not involved.

4. What we cannot guarantee

Delivery depends on Google, Apple, your iPhone, and network services. We will do our best, but we cannot guarantee delivery in every situation. Examples include: your Google Account is suspended or deleted; Inactive Account Manager is not set up or is set up incorrectly; a recipient's email account is deactivated; a third-party service changes; or your iPhone is no longer with you and the reminder is missed. For this reason, the app guides you to also set up an Apple Legacy Contact, and it places every piece of content in an open format in your own Google Drive.

5. End of service

This service has no servers. If this app stops being updated or is removed from the App Store, your messages remain in your iCloud, the copy meant for others remains in your Google Drive, and your Google Inactive Account Manager settings are not affected. We will give advance notice before we stop maintaining it.

6. Your responsibilities

• The recipients you choose should be people you have the right to contact and who are willing to receive what you leave them.
• If other people appear in your photos, please consider their wishes before leaving those photos.
• You may not impersonate anyone else or use this service to pressure others.
• Google's Inactive Account Manager gives your entire Google Drive to the people you choose. Whether to keep other things in your Google Drive is up to you.

7. Fees and ads

This app is free to download. The free version shows one ad after you finish a letter. You can make a one-time purchase of “Remove Ads for Life” through the App Store, after which no more ads appear. Purchases are handled by Apple, and refunds follow Apple's policies.

8. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). For any dispute arising from these terms or this service, both parties agree that the Taipei District Court, Taiwan, shall be the court of first instance.

9. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we will update this page and its effective date.
